Damjan Kovačević was born on February 10, 1983 in Bihać, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 2008 and has received numerous awards for his innovative approach and exceptional drawing technique. Notable recognitions include the First Prize of the Niš Art Foundation (2015), the award at the 48th Winter Salon in Herceg Novi, Montenegro (2015), the First Prize for Drawing from the Vladimir Veličković Foundation (2010), and the Award for Creative Innovation from the Miloš Bajić Fund (2008).
He has participated in international artist residencies including Kulturraum Foundation in Düsseldorf, Germany (2009), Glo'Art in Lanaken, Belgium (2014), and the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris (2012). His works have been acquired by major public collections, including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade (2013) and the Museum of the City of Belgrade (2022). Since 2008, Kovačević has exhibited widely in solo and group shows across Europe.
