Predrag Popara, born in 1973 in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He lives and works in Belgrade
He graduated at the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade in 1999.Popara attended study the Belgrade Faculty of Applied Arts, followed by a specialization at Universität für angewandte Kunst, Wien - where he studied with visiting professors Maria Lassnig and Christian Ludwig Attersee. Popara’s works precedes an arbitrary movement in which are immersed in a state of swift and incandescent change. His imagery, fractured and varied in intensity, moves beyond the liberatory ambitions of Late Modernism; it reflects a post-truth condition that permeates both global culture and individual subjectivity.
He won the First Prize for Drawing in 1998 in Belgrade (Serbia). Since then, he has been actively involved in both solo and group exhibitions across Serbia and internationally, including in Austria, Germany, Hungary, France, Romania, Italy, Slovenia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He has also organized several international exhibitions, such as Black / White (featuring Italian and Serbian artists), Transformations (Romanian, Norwegian, Serbian, and Italian artists), and The Burning Island (Romanian, Serbian, and Italian artists), among others, both in Serbia and abroad. His work has been shown at numerous international art fairs, including Vienna Art Fair, Warsaw International Art Fair, Art Market Budapest, and others. His artworks are held in private collections throughout the region and internationally.
